Meet Stellenbosch 2026

Theme:
Local Roots, Global Reach – Where Knowledge, Innovation & Human Connection Meet

At this year’s Meet Stellenbosch initiative, delegates can expect an inspiring exploration of the theme “Local Roots, Global Reach,” which highlights how authentic, community-based experiences drive international appeal and sustainable growth in the MICE industry. The morning session tackles cutting-edge industry shifts, beginning with John Arvanitakis, CEO of the Event Greening Forum, who will unpack how locally driven sustainability initiatives and a new certification programme elevate South African events on a global scale. This is followed by a forward-thinking keynote from Dr. Danie Maritz on how AI and digital transformation are changing destination discoverability, featuring a live demonstration of a Model Context Protocol (MCP) prototype to show how venues can stay competitive in a machine-readable world.

Delegates can also look forward to an interactive afternoon that beautifully blends business insights with local lifestyle. The program includes a deep dive into the MICE industry with updates on bid support and global competitiveness from the South African National Convention Bureau (SANCB), alongside a dedicated showcase by Hazendal Wine Estate, featuring a presentation by their winemaker on the estate’s philosophy. Beyond the sessions, attendees can network during a canapĂ©-style lunch and coffee breaks in the exhibitor showroom, or opt for exclusive, small-group tours of Hazendal’s estate and hotel.
